Sensory-Motor Integration Workshop at University for Older Adults

November 30, 2018

We were invited to present at a Sensory/Motor Integration Workshop at the University Of Cuenca for Adultos Mayores (“older adults”).

We were thrilled that 40+ people attended, all of them fully participating in the demo of the Move With Balance® sensory/motor integration activities, one of our specialties.

They were all Spanish-speaking Ecuadorians so we brought along our translator. They were glad the book has been translated into Spanish. They loved Move With Balance®. We will present again on April 26, 2019

Neuromedicenter, Adult Day Care Center in Quito

We spent some time with Alzheimer’s patients doing Move with Balance® with Music at the wonderful Nueromedicenter in Quito, Ecuador. This adult day care center is fun by a husband and wife doctor team, Lissette and Alberto. They have an art room, a gardening section, and all kinds of activities for the clients.

“Gandhi Farewell” on our Portugal Trip

Here the participants at an adult day care center in Portugal are joining with us for  the “Gandhi Farewell”. It is a poem from Gandhi that we have been doing at the end of every Move With Balance® class for the past 10 + years. It involves call and response, plus other movements. In 2014 Bill Fuller, our musician, wrote original music for the poem, which, of course, makes the whole experience more beautiful. At the end of class, we all hold hands in a loving circle. (The song is available on this website, the movements are in our book on page 68.)

Our Portugal Trip

Here the participants are following the movements and responding to our original song “I Am Love” available on our website.
Everyone was so open, receptive, and loving, including the staff and participants. When you have clear movements and music, you really don’t need many words. They truly got our message of love.
